Position:Database AdministrationLocation(s):Springfield IL; St. Louis MO Requirements: - 2 years of relational database and SQL development experience using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
- One year of object-oriented programming experience is also required for data-related application development. The majority of our application development is written in Microsoft.NET, but we will consider individuals with comparable experience. - Specific experience with data conversion, SSIS (Integration Services) and SSRS (Reporting Services) will make you a stronger candidate. - The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 – Database Development or equivalent is required within your first 180 days of work. Core Responsibilities: - Requirement Gathering: Analyze and document business requirements for the migration of data from legacy systems into our system. - Data Conversion: Convert data from legacy systems into our system, including data mapping, extraction, cleansing, migration and validation. - Database Administration: Provide expertise and guidance in the design, development and maintenance of our business database and how data is organized and accessed. - SQL Development: Create and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, data models and ETL processes required for data conversion and application development. - Application Development: Create error-free application components for data-access that meet business and technical requirements – reports, correspondence, file exports, etc. - Business Intelligence: Develop managerial reporting solutions utilizing tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services, Analysis Services and SharePoint. Performance Objectives: - Product Awareness: Within your first month, understand and be able to discuss the value of our software products and services. - Technical Knowledge: Within your first 3 months, demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our product’s data architecture, data-related development tools, and data conversion process and methodologies. - Business Knowledge: Within your first 6 months, understand the business usage of our software products as it relates to the underlying business data. - Productivity: Within your first 6 months, demonstrate value by effectively participating in data conversion and application development efforts on implementation projects. - Estimating: Accurately estimate the scope and work needed to successfully complete data conversion projects, as well as other database development tasks. - Organization: Prioritize and multi-task efficiently in order to maximize productivity while maintaining high quality of work. - Collaboration: Work cooperatively with team members and customers. Participate in team and project meetings. Share information and promote a work environment that values others. - Communication: Articulate technical-related information in a way that is clearly understandable to non-technical team members, decision makers and customers.
