Senior PHP Developer (PHP 5.5) needed - New Providence, NJ


*Location: New Providence, NJ *

*Duration: 6 months*

*Interview: Skype*

*Rate: $45/hr*



Design, Architect, and develop new web site platform for based on
open-source components.

Work on transition project to move the applications to PHP using modern
frameworks.

Education/Experience
o Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required.
o 8-10 years experience required.

Responsibility level
o Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

Skills
o Very Strong PHP 5.5 skills in developing public websites in a
distributed, multi-platform, clustered environment (Required)
o Strong knowledge of database modeling and design.
o Must have experience implementing ORM such as Eloquent in an MVC
framework such as Laravel (Required)
o Strong knowledge of database access coding against Postgress. (Highly
desired)
o Strong JavaScript, CSS, JQuery skills (or equivalent) and experience
(Required).
o Bootstrap and AngularJS skills (Highly desired).
o Strong knowledge of XML (Required).
o Experience building web services using PHP (Highly desired)
o Experience with strict code management and controlled deployment
processes (Required)
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving
skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
o Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and
constructive performance feedback of off-shore staff (Required).
o Good working knowledge of SEO and website analytics. (Highly desired)
o Experience in an Agile (quick iterations) development/support environment.


Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Design, Coding, testing, debugging and supporting new platform build-out
in PHP for Lawyers.com and Martindale.com
o Perform code reviews and over-see and mentor off-shore PHP resources who
contribute to the same projects.
o Create work effort estimations. Contribute and commit to project plans
for upcoming releases
o Contribute to second-level production support for new platform code.
o Maintain understanding of current web technologies and programming
practices.
