Here are the details of the position:
**Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the functional
requirements gathering team. The candidate works directly with internal
customers to understand the business environment and needs. Identifies
relevant design, process and specification issue. Assess business
operations and processes of assigned office or business unit to identify
inefficiencies in procedures, information flows and handoffs, decisions,
communications pathways and ways in which systems supporting these can
be enhanced.
· Participate in meetings and projects with staff, project managers, and
business partners to gain understanding of the project, data issues,
risks and application data gaps, pull data and provide analysis and
insights in order to provide reports and recommendations
· Create, design, and format technical specifications including
descriptive text, process flows, and other information needed to
describe required system changes for development, QA, and other units;
serve on project team accomplishing these functions.
· Provide support to applications in production by tracking production
problems and troubleshooting them to sustain application in production.
· Develop queries, analyses, or reports from applications for operations
or management staff of assigned business unit(s), or develop
specifications for such queries or analyses to be performed by others.
· Serve as team, project, or technical support in project involving
definition of business processes or development of technical/business
specifications for new or modified business management or operational
software.
_Must have's skills:_
Ability to stage data from disparate data sources and comfortable
working with large data populations.
Reporting and data analysis experience, including proficiency in
business *intelligence tools such as BO or anything similar, SQL and SAS*.
Analytical business or finance background and demonstrated intellectual
curiosity and the ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver
sound analysis, solutions and business intelligence.
Ability to collaborate, influence and solve difficult problems,
combining the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic
environment
Experience developing queries, analyses, or reports from applications
for operations or management staff of assigned business unit(s),
developing specifications for complex queries or analyses to be
performed by others.
Ability to identify opportunities for automation for the team's
recurrent reporting and implement automated end-to-end reporting
solutions across various technology platforms.
Attention to detail with intentional focus on *quality and data
validation*.
Good oral/written communication and proven ability to liaise with
business stakeholder analysts and management.
Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight
deadlines, and be effective and decisive under pressure, project
management oriented
Mortgage finance experience with particular focus on insurance products
and property disposition activities preferred
Finance and accounting knowledge & experience a plus
