*Job Title:              DevOps Systems Engineer / Software Configuration
management*

*Location:              Denver, CO *

*Duration:             6+ months Contract*





*Responsibilities:*

·         Deploy software solutions during off-hours to a 24/7 production
environment on demand, as frequently as every Sprint

·         Write detailed deployment procedures and execute them during dry
runs in a staging environment

·         Champion continuous deployment to automate production system
deployments

·         Develop monitoring tools and dashboards to make life easier for
the whole team

·         Use your expertise to design staging environments that ensure
quick and reliable software deployments

·         Brainstorm with the team to design tests that find problems and
even prevent them

·         Collaborate with development teams to improve how software is
built, tested and deployed

·         Identify, troubleshoot, and solve complex system issues in the
customer-facing environment using a holistic view

·         Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning meetings, backlog
refinement, sprint demos, and retrospectives

·         Collaborate with the Systems Team and other Program Leaders to
align on release management

·         Frequently analyze the production system to expose weaknesses and
find innovative ways to re-design for success

·         Create innovative solutions to complicated industry problems

·         Focus on delivering real, concrete value to millions of
customers, keeping the big picture in mind

·         Basic Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information
Technology, or other related field

·         6 months of experience using Linux and/or Unix

·         One to three years of experience performing general Linux and/or
Windows system administration including installation, maintenance, upgrade,
configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting and resolving operating
system issues

·         Experience with one or more of the following: UNIX shell
scripting, Perl, Python, Ruby, or similar languages

·         Working knowledge of TCP/IP



*Preferred Qualifications:*

·         Experience in an Agile software development environment

·         Strong script development experience

·         Solid understanding of AIX to include virtualized systems

·         In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP

·         Understanding of SANs

·         Experience with EMC storage product lines

·         Experience with VMware

·         Experience with performing performance testing of systems and
applications

·         Experience using relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.

·         Knowledge of DVB and MPEG

·         Knowledge of computer network and application layer protocols

·         Analytical, detail-oriented, and thorough when working on
assigned tasks

·         Ability to quickly identify a problem and find multiple creative
solutions

·         Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks
simultaneously and work them to completion with little supervision

·         Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to work
collaboratively across teams and organizations

·         Ability to work under pressure with many assigned tasks and hard
deadlines

·         Passion for continuous improvement, software engineering,
technology, TV, and movies.
