A client of ours is looking for an AIX/ RHEL Linux Administrator for a
long-term contract opportunity in
Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:
Minimum 4 years' experience with IBM AIX 5.3 or newer
Minimum 3 years' Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x
administration on VMWare or other server virtualization platform
Minimum 3 years' experience in administering Storage Area
Networks and NAS (Network Attached Storage) Configuration and Management
(EMC, IBM, HP, Hitachi) also to include storage virtualization
Must have a solid understanding of automating system
administration task and scripting languages
Must have a solid understanding of TCP/ IP networking
Must have a solid understanding of host security
(passwords, file permissions, file system integrity, security packages) and
network security concepts
Must have strong knowledge of backup and recovering
procedures, and disaster recovery procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in administering Symantec Enterprise Netbackup,
HP Data Protector, CommVault, Avamar Configuration and Management
Experience in administering Data Domain Configuration and
Management
Experience in administering Cisco Network Infrastructure
Configuration and Management
Experience in administering SAN (Storage Area Network) and
NAS (Network Attached Storage) Configuration and Management (EMC, IBM, HP,
Hitachi)
General Responsibilities:
?Configuration, implentation, and management of servers in
a highly available and virtualized environment running:
IBM AIX
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
VMWare
Configuration, implementation, and management of Tiered SAN
and NAS Storage Environments
Apply strong knowledge of backup and recovery processes and
disaster recovery procedures to maintain data protection and availability
Implementation and management of platform security in
accordance with IT standards and any compliance requirements
Ensure day-to-day support and a high level of 24x7x365
service availability
Respond to real-time performance alerts to resolve
performance problems, regular on-going review and analysis of performance
data to identify current performance problems and proactively detect
potential future performance problems
Provide 2nd or 3rd level proactive and reactive service and
performance management for mission critical systems. Identifies
requirements for real-time alerts to notify support groups of a current or
potential performance problem.
Independently perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause
analysis, solution development, and implementation
Manage system specific network infrastructure components,
configurations, and applications
Strong performance tuning and capacity planning experience
Strong documentation skill sets required to build run books
for identified critical systems
