Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware and applications software. Detects, diagnoses, and reports related problems on the server. Duties include installing and maintaining (from a server or system perspective) operating systems, database management systems, and programming tools. Monitors and tunes systems software and networks for optimal performance. Also installs new user accounts, creates batch administration scripts and runs systems backups and disaster recovery operations. System admin that understands how the pieces fit. Actual construction of designs and such, is not needed. Skilled in WAS 6.0, 6.1 installation, tuning and troubleshooting - 4-5 years Knowledgeable in the IHS/Apache Webserver installation and tuning including plugin config - 4-5 years Knowledgeable in the AIX and Linux operating systems - 4-5 years. Experience in configuring and troubleshooting WebSphere application server in a multiple tier (firewall/load balancer) environment - 4-5 years Scripting, automation knowledge, portal experience, ESB/Websphere process server a definite plus Knowledge of Wily Introscope toolset 1-2 years Identification of components in the websphere application server space, Migration, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of WebSphere application server instances. Configure websphere application server including global security, MQ, Database and CICS transaction gateway Participate in load tests to assess statistics successful migration Preferred Skills Required: Position Description: Specific expertise in solving complex Web-based application solutions. Analyzes, designs, develops and supports all major Web information systems designs from an enterprise perspective. Requires significant expertise in applicable and various development technologies. This role also includes working as part of a team to install and manage developer applications, diagnose and repair problems, and successfully integrate complex solutions .Responsible for maintaining and supporting JAVA applications ·Gathers and analyzes requirements ·Programs all or selected components of Web or Java applications ·Documents components and applications.
