Experience with Clustered Data ONTAP (CDOT) is a major plus. HM would like to pull the Back-up requirements and focus only on candidates with a storage background. NetApp is a key requirement. Moving to EMC so if candidates have it it is highly preferred. JO TITLE: Backup Administrator JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the engineering of and level 3 type support of our NetApp storage as well as Symantec Netbackup/Spectralogic tape library environments. The Netbackup and NetApp environments support our entire distributed platforms (Unix, NT). This role will provide primary design responsibility for our Symantec Netbackup environment as well as act as primary liaison between IHG and IPSoft (our current level 1 and 2 Netbackup support vendor). It will also be responsible for the design and support of our NetApp storage environments. As the organization continues its move to hosted options, this responsibility will expand to ensure that the hosting facilities backups and storage offerings are implemented in such a way to ensure reliable backup/recovery and storage solutions using the hosting provider's offerings. Required: 8+ years of work experience in backup and storage architectures Proficiency in the implementation and maintenance of integrated systems across hardware and software platforms. In depth knowledge of system integration issues, especially those related to large enterprise backup and storage environments. Senior-level technical working knowledge of Netbackup backup application. Specific technical working knowledge of UNIX operating systems. Specific technical working knowledge of NT operating systems. Specific technical working knowledge of NetApp or other storage systems. Bachelor's Degree Job Duties and Responsibilities: This contractor will be overseeing and managing the backup and recovery environment. They will be responsible for documenting the environment, measure the baseline and seeing if it works for the current project scope/plan. If needed, this person will participate and make recommendations in the architecture and implementation of the environment. They will be reviewing and, when required, consolidating and optimizing policies. Direct staff to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and back up- and storage-related problems. Review and approve the planning and implementation of NetBackup upgrades. Review and approve the design, configuration and testing of backup infrastructure capacity and performance. Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and counsel organization on where changes will need to be made in the future.
