*Position: Sr. Web Frontend Software Developer *
*Location: Reston, VA*
*LOA: 6 Month *
*Start Date: ASAP*
Responsibilities:
• Prototype and develop high quality web-based solutions for
various information security challenges that leverage data sources such as
reconstructed network traffic, logs, SIEM alerts, network and end-point
malware events, and others we are just beginning to
explore.
• Take the lead on aspects of our web application to ensure
consistency, quality, architectural integrity, testability, scalability,
and availability.
• Identify new technology and practices that will benefit our
web application and platform as a whole and contribute to our long-term
strategy and growth
• Research and develop innovative methods for visualizing
information in order to enhance the ability of a security analyst to
identify and mitigate unauthorized or unlawful activity involving an
organization’s digital assets.
This job will afford the candidate the opportunity to contribute to a
state-of-the-art software product suite that solves the most complex
problems that face the rapidly expanding cyber security industry.
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years experience designing, developing, and testing of web
applications
• Comfortable with Mercurial and/or Git. A link to your GitHub
page would be even better!
• Strong grasp of BDD/TDD principles and experience
implementing them in practice
• Solid JavaScript/CSS/HTML5 skills
• Solid Java skills
• Java Web Application development experience, particularly
Spring MVC
• Experience working with RIA frameworks. Technologies like
Sencha ExtJS and Sencha Touch, jQuery and jQuery UI, and/or others
• Experience working with WebSockets and libraries such as
Socket.IO or SockJS.
• Experience with a JavaScript visualization library such as
D3, HighCharts, RaphaelJS.
• Experience with database ORM technology such as Hibernate.
Spring Data JPA experience is a plus.
• Must have some experience with either NoSQL databases
(MongoDB or CouchDB) and/or SQL databases (H2, PostgreSQL, or MySQL).
• Experience with Java IoC containers particularly Spring.
• Experience acting as a mentor and willingness to play lead
role in initiatives involved in improving a particular area of a software
project.
• Ideal candidates should be local to the Washington DC area.
Some exceptions made for proven rock stars.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Extremely strong written and
verbal (English) communications skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity with some of the newer JavaScript MVC frameworks
such as the MEAN stack, AngularJS, Ember.js, Backbone.js and/or Knockout is
a plus.
• Knowledge of node.js and experience switching to it from
another backend technology like Spring MVC.
• Experience with Spring Security and familiarity with SAML,
and LDAP.
• Solid understanding of REST is a plus. Experience with
libraries like Abdera, Restlet, JAX-WS (Jersey), Apache CXF and/or Metro is
useful.
• Experience developing a Commercial Enterprise product.
• Familiarity with IP networking concepts. Domain knowledge of
the information security industry is a huge plus.
In addition to a personal interview, the candidate may be required to take
a written test.
