SharePoint Designer Job Requirements The SharePoint Designer is responsible for designing and implementing SharePoint solutions including internal web page design, collaboration solutions, workflow configuration, and document management solutions in SharePoint 2013. Experience with SharePoint 2010 is also necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Work with business user and managers to document and analyze workflows that will be automated in SharePoint. Use that information to create requirements documents for SharePoint solutions. Be proficient in SharePoint Designer to modify look-and-feel of site pages and build workflows. Re-architect SharePoint 2010 sites to remove undesirable third party tools. Work with the SharePoint Administrator to design site collections that support efficient business processes. Collaborate with the SharePoint Administrator and business partners to develop necessary security requirements for new sites. Work with the SharePoint administrator to suggest and scale a remote access scheme within the context of a business domain. Work with developers to create customized solutions. This may include integrating third-party tools and/or custom code into SharePoint. Conduct research on emerging SharePoint development tools and strategies. Share ideas with the SharePoint team. Work with the SharePoint Administrator to design appropriate solutions and be a liaison between developers and stakeholders to ensure that SharePoint solutions meet stakeholder expectations. Provide training to business leaders and end users. Participate in testing. Determine when SharePoint is not the right solution for a business problem and communicate this effectively to the business leaders.
Candidates will have the following qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in SharePoint design in a 2010 or 2013 environment. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work with a team, including collaboration and development of SharePoint policies and procedures. Ability to manage expectations of business partners. Ability to manage small projects without assistance including requirements gathering, site design, project milestones, testing, training, and final customer signoff.
