*Required Skills:*
Create, maintain and monitor our database environment that is
highly available and high performing.
Implementation, configuration of MySQL database
Implement HA solution and define Backup/Recovery strategy
Plan, drive and implement capacity planning and best practices
Participate in planning, maintenance and implementation of all
aspects of database disaster recovery
Set database performance best practices. Review and approve
all database schema and procedure changes.
Must be highly proficient in all aspects of database
administration. Including, but not limited to, backup/recovery/DR, all
flavors of replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and
proactive monitoring
Willing to expand knowledge of other data technologies,
including MongoDB, Redis, HBase, and Hive.
Should have the skills to triage issues in an end-to-end
manner with awareness of how web, application and caching tiers impact
database performance and availability.
Rapidly diagnose and fix problems
Database performance tuning which includes Instance tuning and
DB tuning.
DB Parameter tuning (Semaphores, Shared Memory etc.)
Daily maintenance and monitoring activities
Contribution towards migration / upgrade of database if needed.
Contribution to build Hierarchical replication and
synchronization of instances
On-call responsibility (including weekends), if required.
MySQL Database Administrator Certification, a plus
*Secondary Skills:*
Will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills.
6 + years of experience as a MySQL DBA (MySQL 5.6+) in a
transactional environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or
similar, preferred
Must thrive in fast paced, results driven environment, Experience on
Agile methodology.
