Position : Test Engineer Location : Atlanta, GA Duration :10+Months Type :Contract GC/Citizen Skills : • Spirent experience • DOCSIS or GPAN • Experience creating test scripts • Augment staff to keep up with testing of various inhome cable modems, phone adapters, WiFi extenders, etc. • Evaluate new models for product group projects where they want to offer that supports higher MB's. • Working in lab and keeping testing tools updated. • Automation • DOCSIS and optical and ethernet based telecom equipment exp REQUIRED • Documentation skills re: test cases, results of them and what are main conclusions; summarize test equipment tools activities they do in the lab. REQUIRED Top 3 Requirements: 1. DOCSIS or GPAN is required. Will consider either of them. Either telecom or cable background or in vendor community will have this experience. They don't have time to train DOCSIS or GPAN on the fly so they absolutely need to have one of the other. 2. Layer 2 and 3 networking skills is required. Voice technology experience can be a substitute for layer 2/3 as well. 3. Test tool automation experience; able to write scripts and maintain automated test case configurations,etc. Spirent experience is ideal; but others like Expo or Expia is ok too. Someone not just running pre-configured test cases; need to be able to write own test scripts in tools. • Someone knows how to write test configurations. Some typical QA folks specialize in running already created test scripts and record pass/fails but don't troubleshoot any field tests, etc. He really needs those who create test plans and test cases, etc. • DOCSIS is huge slew of specs surrounding how cable device plugs into their network. More in depth re: provisioning, quality of service, how services (voice, data and video) tie together. Complex. DOCSIS=cable industry. • Will spend 50%-75% in the lab. If has DOCSIS experience then most likely the CN will have layer 2 and layer 3 experience required.
