SharePoint Administrator position in Los Angeles (Ventura County), CA. Title: SharePoint Administrator Length: 12+ months
We are in need of a SharePoint Administrator for a contract role in Ventura County, CA. The client's environment consist of 2 Virtual Machines for Production Environment, 2 Virtual Machines for Development Environment, 1 application / IIS / Search server and 1 SQL Database Server per environment. Although, they are migrating content from Windows File Sharing into SharePoint, migration experience is not needed. They primarily need a person very familiar with Content Types, SharePoint Governance, Taxonomy, Permissions, Records Management, Authentication Methods, implementation of new features with 2010 edition. They candidate should have manual conversion experience. Desired Candidate Requirements: SharePoint working knowledge of SharePoint Central Administration, Business Connectivity Data Services, Windows PowerShell, SharePoint Designer. SharePoint working knowledge of MySites / User Profiles, Excel Services, Office Web Apps, Audiences, Business Data Catalog, External Content Types. SharePoint Event Log troubleshooting, search administration and troubleshooting, concepts of a farm and the planning and implementation of Service Packs and Cumulative Updates.Managing and checking the overall server health and functionality. Monitoring SharePoint disk space usage through the built-in SharePoint reports for each site collection Managing SharePoint permissions Analyzing and reporting upon SharePoint usage and activity Moving/copying sites Supporting network load balancing needs and ensuring its correct operation (NLB) Regular review of the events and messages reported in Event Viewer and Performance Monitor Regular review, clean-up, management and configuration of SharePoint accounts and sites. Regularly analyzing SharePoint content and storage Monitoring SharePoint trends (e.g. site usage and growth, disk space usage and growth) Setting up alerts and enforcing policies Regularly auditing SharePoint environment Identifying and reporting governance violations Developing custom SharePoint components, including workflows, web parts, features and templates Microsoft SQL Server - Basic operation, tuning, transaction log selection, backup and recovery, and maintenance planning. Microsoft SQL Server - Knowledge of RDMS and Relational Theory, Installing and Configuring, Maintaining Instances, Managing Security, Data Management, Monitoring and Troubleshooting, Optimizing for Performance, strong SQL Language and Query skills. Familiar with Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Hyper-V Checking for operating system, SQL Server and SharePoint patches and cumulative updates. Windows operating system and hardware Basic administration of a server including service packs and hot fixes. General knowledge of networking IP, DNS, Load Balancing as well as the concepts of Availability, Scalability, and Maintainability. Understand firewalls, encryption and security zones.
