*6 months* *$40-45/hr* *Ph & Skype* Senior Windows Engineers are responsible for analysis, design, architecting and implementation of new systems and technologies. This role involves requirements gathering, creating infrastructure solutions, presentations and discussions with customers/peers and project management. Setting global technology directives including self-service and automation that lower TCO is a primary focus for this position. Roles & Responsibilities: Leads evaluation of technologies and partners with technology groups on new product reviews, tests and pilots. Recommends products to management that provide financial and operational efficiency benefits. Provide Windows platform architecture guidance, research technical issues; publish standards, best practices, white papers and solutions. Conduct proof-of-concept exercises to validate concepts and assumptions. Act as Windows subject matter expert, providing technical leadership across all IT disciplines. Provide training and mentoring to Level 1 and 2 peers in support of server infrastructure designs and global standards. Maintains current knowledge of marketplace changes, technology changes, and client business pertinent to server, storage, and network virtualization and cloud computing. Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation Skills/Qualifications: 5+ years of Windows platform experience. Must know Windows 2003/2008 R2, and Active Directory. 5+ years of designing and implementing global systems 4+ years working with redundant n-tier architectures including their design, implementation and managing capacity/scaling challenges 3+ years working with virtualization technologies. Must know VMware ESX 5. Deep understanding of Microsoft software technology Experience configuring SAN/NAS drives such as FC and NFS to Windows operating systems. Strong scripting and automation experience using powershell and/or vbscript. Experience with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery design, planning and implementation for Windows platforms. Experience hosting systems in a cloud environment a plus Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
