*1+ year contract* *Max Rate; $40hr (max)* The business decides strategy and to implement this strategy, we have to update our front end systems to support this new strategy. So on the one side, you have the business and business requirements and on the other side you have the development teams that updates code, web-services, back end, to implement changes to meet the business requirements. The gap between the business and the development teams have to be bridged and the person that we are hiring, bridges this gap. This person talks to the business and understands business strategy and business requirements. This person also understands the inner workings of the system, user interface, web service calls etc. needed to make the business objectives happen. So to answer your question, I am looking for someone who has knowledge of coding, perhaps a prior job as a developer or at least some development and who has matured into designing systems. So knowledge of UML, sequence diagrams, web services, RESTful services, XML, SOAP, etc. is highly desirable. Also since our stores use iPads, knowledge of iOS 8 is definitely a plus. I am not looking for a Business Systems Analyst but rather a Systems Analyst. The system that this person will be concentrating on is the one currently used for transactions in retail stores.
