Client is seeking dynamic individuals to join their team in creating the
quality software to allow their organization meet critical timelines and
goals. In this position you will be exposed to the full software
development lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing and
delivery). Technologies include: *Java (J2SE and J2EE), Oracle 10g & 11G,
Spring Framework and XML.*
This position will focus on updating and maintaining the WebsterOnline
suite of applications. The candidate will participate in the complete SDLC
process on projects, enhancements and bug fixes. Ideal candidate must be
able to fully participate in team functions and be able to produce
documentation at the code and technical levels. This role also interacts
closely with our Systems Analysis and Quality Assurance teams; excellent
verbal and written communication skills are a key, as well as the ability
to discuss technical topics with a wide variety of audiences with different
skillsets. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to quickly
adapt to changing requirements and able to quickly identify and solve
technical issues. Candidate will also be asked to estimate and manage time
effectively and should be able to give concise, reasonable time estimates
for work. Candidate will be asked to perform peer code reviews of
development teams. This role also has aspects of production support,
including participation in a pager rotation and release planning.
Candidate will work with business analysts, project managers, and senior
staff members to evaluate and propose solutions to problems and
implementing these solutions within our existing architecture. Candidate
will be called upon to create well-documented processes and procedures,
design specifications and templates according to approved guidelines, and
will participate in creating new templates and guidelines as needed.
*Experience with the following technologies required:*
- Java
- Database Development
- SQL
- Database Modeling
- Unit testing
- J2EE
- JSP
- Spring Framework
- UML/Visio and related technical documentation tools
*Additional experience preferred:*
- PL/SQL
- Advanced HTML, CSS, JavaScript ability
- jQuery
