CNC Programmer






Location: York, PA



Duration: 6 months







Job Description:



- This position reports to Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and is
responsible for creating CNC programs for the machine tools.



- Programs lathes, milling and drilling machines.



- Develops a manufacturing/machining process from drawings to create a part
that meets specifications at lowest cost.



- Creates tool drawings and set-up sheets for the machine operators.



- Determines proper tooling to be used. Establishes optimum feeds and
speeds. Understands the effects of these variables on the machining process.



- Works with tooling suppliers to identify tooling improvements. Performs
tool testing to verify savings and tool performance.



- Works with operators for program prove-out.



- Assists maintenance in machine set-up after machine repair.



- Troubleshoots manufacturing problems to determine if issue is a process
problem verses a machine issue.



- Must understand and work with multiple model and manufacturer’s controls.



- Designs fixturing to hold parts on a specific machine.







Education / Experience:



- Associate’s degree in a technical field with 2 years’ experience in
programming or minimum of 5 years equivalent industry experience.



- Ability to comprehend complex drawings machines and understand geometric
tolerances.



- Ability to define and communicate complex programming issues.



- Basic knowledge of fixtures and fixture design.



- Interpersonal skills needed to work successfully with both Engineers and
Shop floor personnel.



- Proficient computer skills and experience in Compact II programming,
Auto-CAD and Vericut software experience would be helpful.
