*Duration: 6 months+* Description: Provide Business aligned custom support for IB aligned systems including EQ cash trading, Prime Services, Margin Flex and FICC Frisk reporting, Global Equity Derivatives (GED). These systems are using complex database technologies to maintain transaction rate, availability, replication across regions and performance. These systems require close monitoring and continue tuning to meet business SLAs. Regional Senior DBA role to perform L4 type of activities – complex High Availability and Disaster Recovery design and configuration, Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting, DB administration, Vendor management, product readiness for production. Provide DBA support for business driven projects in IB space in upcoming 2014. Key role in migration and provide ongoing support to business critical systems in FICC and Equity as part of Database as Service (DBaaS) project. Key role in certification and testing Database tools and processes for DBaaS project. Remediate database systems to comply the High Risk Audit and ORI Items with significant severity rating that has enterprise wide exposure. Provide capacity planning and forecast of storage, database growth and server utilization. Expect to work during isolation tests, BCM testing, power downs and infrastructure weekends when required. Support very large database using complex technologies such as Clustering, mirroring and replication. Provide weekend on-call support when necessary. The major responsibilities includes Advanced Performance tuning, Subject Matter Expert role, High Availability/Disaster Recovery selection and setup, Storage and Capacity management, Security and Audit remediation, Cost efficiency & Service improvement initiatives, Incident Management and RCA. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in providing DBA support for large number of databases in Oracle. An excellent understanding of Oracle internals and Administration in 10g, 11g, 11g GRID and HA. Experience in managing Real Application Clusters and Dataguard is preferable. Experience in Recovery Manager and OEM is required. Advanced Performance tuning skill to identify the contention at Database and operating system level and able to provide the solution quickly to resolve production issues. Experience in analyzing the Database Health check reports like AWR, ADDM, OEM Diagnostics Packages and should have experience to interpret the performance metrics quickly. Solid understanding on Unix Operating systems. Experience in Exadata technology and understanding of Oracle Security features including DB wallet, OID is a plus Experience with Dataguard log shipping configuration and RAC installation (active/active, active/passive) and administration. In-depth knowledge in different disaster recovery procedures and implementation. Perform disaster failover/failback procedures. Experience in application development and support using PL/SQL and SQL. Experience supporting a variety of applications including high transaction volume Trading systems Experience working for firms in financial services industry is a plus. Must be flexible to work on weekends and after business hours, if required. Must have the strong communication skill to deal directly with business and development teams.
