Position : Core Java developer | Location : Stamford, CT Duration :6+ Months Contract Interview : Skills : Job Description: We are looking for an Expert Core Java developer who can enhance and performance tune client's Data Warehousing batch process application implemented in Java multi-threading environment. The application extracts, transforms and loads huge volume of data from source to destination databases. Application is heavily multi-threaded, uses lot of memory on compute nodes and CPU intensive. We are looking for someone who can read and understand the code base and implement the solution as per the recommendation document. Required Skills/Background: • 10+ years of Application development • Proficiency in multi-threaded, Client server based architecture. • Proficiency in high performance data structures, algorithms • Java Collections API, JDBC • Exceptional core Java skills • Prior Knowledge of Performance tuning Data intensive applications • Oracle Exadata database background • Data modelling, great understanding of batch loading process, SQL Tuning • Strong background in object-oriented design and development • Strong Analytical skills • Proactive, Detail oriented and Strong desire to learn new technologies • Financial Industry experience is a huge plus Our goal is to create step change in batch run times/processes that read & write to the database of the platform described below. We want to look at re-writing the core to be multi-threaded. Merival is a reporting application where users can leverage the post trades data for regulatory reporting. ETL Batch jobs: Loads trade postings and reference data from all 7 regions (expecting to increase 3 more regions.) Batch load etls can be daily or monthly. Monthly loads can be intra loads also..it means users can choose some customized etls from input db mids to mvds. Business objects is their reporting system to do drill down and up, summary level and details level on data obtained on MVDS database. Posting tables are partitioned and sub partitioned to allow parallel load from mids data base to mvds database.
