Here was the original description:

Looking for a professional with 5 to 7 experience in most of the following
areas:

A software developer with analytical skills turned into infrastructure are

Understanding of Hardware infrastructure, Servers, SAN, Networks, etc…

Experience using the system software like AIX/Linux, Tomcat, Apache

Experience in understanding the security patches on on IBM AIX, Linux,
Tomcat, Apache, SSL Certs

Experience in system software version upgrades like Linux, Tomcat, Apache,
NDM

Development experience using the technologies: Oracle Java,

Understanding of Job Scheduling in Perl/Autosys

Experience in planning various activities

Strong collaborative skills, identifying the technology partner teams,

Experience in preparing Implementation plans and run the implementations

What are they really looking for? We met with the hiring manager and this
sums up what he told us:

The bank has a huge patching effort going on right now. This person will
be the infrastructure point of contact for this particular team. A lot of
the patching program is causing changes to their existing infrastructure
and applications. This person will not be doing those changes, BUT will be
coordinating them and has to know how one thing effects another. So, they
really need a broad infrastructure background. They will be scheduling the
patches, so need to understand the infrastructure and development world to
understand how to schedule the patches. He suggested a Unix/Linux Sys
Admin who has an outgoing personality OR who has managed things in the
past. This role will be about 75% of their time. The reason they listed
the programming skills is b/c they would like a person who has an interest
in this side for the other 25% of their time. They aren't going to be a
hard core programmer or anything, but having an awareness and some light
experience (even in college) with Oracle/Java technologies will be a big
plus and make this person more versatile.

Technologies they will be exposed to in the environment - Unix, Linux,
Tomcat, WebSphere, Apache, Oracle, Java, web technologies.
