Our client is specifically looking for a SQL Server/ETL Developer to work
on the design, construction, implementation and support of ETL packages.
The position requires designing, developing, and debugging ETL jobs with
Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Transact-SQL scripts in
SQL Server 2008 and/or higher environment.



REQUIRED SKILLS



Clear understanding of the logical and physical database design, data
normalization concepts and data aggregation/integration best practices.



Extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server SSIS, and Transact-SQL.



Working knowledge of data warehouse/data mining and ETL techniques using
SSIS.



Working experience with T-SQL development of stored procedures, indexing,
triggers, functions, and queries.



Experience with MS SQL Server administration including backups, monitoring,
and performance tuning as well as job scheduling.



Experience working with software development life cycle (SDLC).



Ability to articulate idea to both technical and non-technical audiences.



Working knowledge of interacting with and automating interfaces with
disparate systems, including iSeries/DB2 is helpful, but not required.



Crystal Reports experience is helpful, but not required.



Education and other Requirements



3+ years’ experience in ETL/Data Extract/Integration development.



3+ years’ experience in designing, developing, and delivering solutions
using MS SQL Server 2008 and/or higher (2012 and/or 2014).



B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering or equivalent work
experience.



JOB OVERVIEW



SQL Server/ETL Developer to work on the design, construction,
implementation and support of ETL packages. The position requires
designing, developing, and debugging ETL jobs with Microsoft SQL Server
Integration Services (SSIS) or Transact-SQL scripts in SQL Server 2008
and/or higher environment. The position also requires knowledge of data
quality solutions and master data management principles. The SQL Database
Developer will also perform business analysis, quality assurance testing
and database modeling as required.



Interact with business users and external service providers to present the
findings on data.



Design, construct and implement database architecture for optimal data
acquisition, maintenance/cleansing, and extraction of information according
to business requirements and technical specifications.



Develop MS SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Server Integration
Services (SSIS) packages for complex calculations.



Troubleshoot data and ETL problems & Work with large, complex sets of data.



Perform reporting development and data migration as required & Provide
estimates for simple to complex development items.



Debug, configure and optimize ETL packages from a database perspective,
such as to optimize stored procedures using indexing, temp tables, and
logic changes.



Transport of development objects through the development landscape (i.e.
DEV, TST, PRD).



Document, train, and transition the ETL packages to production support.



Providing end-user support with problem analysis and resolution for
Production ETL packages as required.
