*Primary job duties: *
This position will provide on-site Level 1/II Unix REHL and Windows system
administration services in support of the CBP National Data Center’s
Technical Operations Center. The candidate will be responsible for alert
monitoring of the Unix and Windows distributed infrastructure for the CBP
Production environment using Managed Objects. The successful applicant must
possess experience in real-time monitoring, diagnosis and trouble-shooting
of incidents and events.
Job Duty 1 with % of time – Monitor Unix and Windows systems using Managed
Objects – 65%
Job Duty 2 with % of time – Troubleshoot system events – 15%
Job Duty 3 with % of time – Follow documented procedures for escalation of
events – 10%
Job Duty 4 with % of time – Identify and report hardware failures – 5%
Job Duty 5 with % of time – Update shift logs and perform shift turnover –
5%

*Required Skills  - in order of importance with years of experience needed*
3 years Redhat Linux administration
3 years Windows 2008 and 2012 Server administration
2 years monitoring and troubleshooting in a Data Center environment
Unique Skills:
SHIFT WORK REQUIRED:  Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11:30 PM

*Preferred Skills  - with years of experience needed*

5 years of Red Hat Linux and Windows Server 2008/2012 systems
administration in a Data Center Environment.
3 years monitoring a distributed server infrastructure using an enterprise
monitoring tool and responding to system alerts.
