*Job Details:* *Job Title : CA Gen Developer/Programmer* *Location : **Durham, NC* *Duration : **7+ Months* *Either Webcam Interview or In Person Interview* *Job Description:* *CA Gen Developer/Programmer - Typical Experience: 60-84 months CA Gen Developer/Programmer* NC DHHS is seeking a short term (approx. 7-8 months) resource to provide development support for the architecture, design, develop, modification, testing, and implementation of the required changes to the EPICS System to be in compliance with a Federal Audit. These required changes will impact the way the EPICS System functions and will affect the interface with the Federal Treasury Offset Program (TOP). The modifications to the EPICS System must be written in CA Gen version 8.5 and be able to support any enhancements related to these required modifications within the core application. All changes to this application and its infrastructure must be addressed in a professional manner using DHHS' System Development Life Cycle methodology to ensure success, and to meet the business needs of the department. Due to the 12/31/2015 deadline to implement these changes, this resource will be expected to work approximately 50 hours a week until go-live date and overtime as needed to provide post implementation support. Local candidates are highly desired due to strict deadline and impending start date. Expected Skills: Able to work without assistance; can provide leadership to others; able to manage complex work efforts; may have advanced education; may have deep industry experience. Description (including, but not limited to): 1. Development and enhancement of applications based on established design specifications 2. Analysis, design, coding, component/assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team 3. Implementing configuration changes to software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements 4. Writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions, maintenance (including production support) 5. Unit testing applications and developing system and user documentation Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Full life-cycle development experience supporting applications written in CA Gen Required 5 Years Experience programming in CA Gen version 8.5 Required 6 Months Experience programming with IBM mainframe DB2 Required 5 Years Experience programming with MQ Series Required 3 Years Experience programming in IBM mainframe COBOL Required 5 Years Experience with structured system development methodologies, preferably waterfall method Required 18 Months Experience in data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and mainframe to servers in a statewide environment Required 2 Years Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills Required Ability to translate and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-IT business users Required Ability to develop relationships/ partnerships with customers Required Extensive expertise conducting problem analysis and issue resolution Required 5 Years Experience installing, configuring, monitoring, supporting/maintaining and developing applications in a mainframe environment Required 5 Years Experience performing business requirements definitions, reviewing functional specifications, developing test plans, & performing application testing Desired 2 Years Excellent written skills including experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel) Desired 2 Years Experience with test environment design, setup, load, and refresh concepts and procedures. Nice to have 1 Years Experience with IRS publication 1075 concepts and procedures. Nice to have 1 Years Experience developing in an environment that includes the following development tools: CICS, EZTrieve+,Zeke, X/PTR, Endevor, & CA Tools & Utilities.
