*duration 6-12 months* *must be local* *Piscataway NJ* *FACE 2 FACE* A leading health insurance provider is hiring a SQL Database Engineer to work out of its Central NJ offices. A Day in the Life Design, develop and deliver / implement data solutions to include: architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, development of standards, design and development of test plans, code and module design, development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution. Effectively manage day-to-day tasks / activities in coordination with a team of developers to effectively meet the deliverables and schedule of a data solution component within a larger application project. Be able to clearly communicate complex technical designs and solutions in clear, concise and easily readable format by both technical and non-technical personnel. Communicate effectively in both verbal (i.e. day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written (requirements and design specifications) form, as well as have an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications. What You Bring to the Team Seven (+) years’ experience in full life-cycle database development projects using SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 Strong SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL development working with VLDBs Solid T-SQL programming for performance and reliability Solid understanding of database fundamentals with strong problem solving skills Strong performance tuning skills for complex queries, procedure and indexing strategies. Experience in designing and implementing complex logical and physical Data Models. Strong knowledge of implementation of SQL Server best practices. Build database tools and scripts to automate repetitive tasks. Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex and high pressure environment. Ability to take ownership of projects and be self-directed Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary. Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
