*Title: *Hadoop Developer/Admin with Hadoop tester. *Location: Wilmington DE* *Duration:* *12-months Contract + extension* This will be a tough search, If you look at the requirement, it’s a test engineer that will be interacting with the Hadoop developers. Sort of a Hadoop tester. *Overall Job Purpose* •The Hadoop Test Engineer is responsible for test planning and execution for all BCUS’s Hadoop technology solutions •Drive innovation in test strategy and methodology •Ensure success of continuous integration and quality control •Ensure high-quality solutions •Establish quality assurance standards and best practices for Hadoop testing. *Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)* (Ideally 4-10 points, or headings with sub-points. Quantify where possible e.g. cost/income budget, no of subordinates, likely no of yrs/mths to complete longest task. Could note key external/internal lateral relationships) Delivery Review requirements and design specifications with an emphasis towards product testabilityo Develop Hadoop test strategies with developers, and team memberso Design and execute manual testing Ensure traceability of testing across all layers and test types Manage test data Identify and report risks associated with development and delivery 1. o Identify, implement, manage and report appropriate metrics 2. o Work with the Quality Assurance organization to ensure established procedures, standards and processes are utilized consistently 3. o Maintains quality standards for own work; detail-oriented 4. o Develop and sustain positive relationships with peers 5. *6. **Administration* 7. o Manage the adherence and quality of all Administrative responsibilities according to prescribed timelines including: 8. Performance Development Process (FTE only) 9. Timesheets 10. Information Security Training and Acceptable Use Policy submissions 11. o Support Quality Assurance goals 12. o Adhere to all Barclays, Barclaycard, BCUS and BTG standards, policies and governance practices 13. *14. **Person Specification* 15. (Personal attributes essential to performing role: e.g. skills, competencies, expertise, knowledge, experience. Note: experience not to be time-bound) Required 16. •Best qualified candidate must have minimum five years of testing on large software systems, including front and back end systems 17. •BS/BE/BA in Computer Science 18. •Excellent testing planning skills 19. •Excellent leadership skills; ability to drive quality initiatives 20. •Good SQL knowledge and able to create and work with databases 21. •Excellent problem-solving skills 22. •Excellent communication and documentation skills 23. •Excellent team player with ability to work with multiple stake holders 24. •Excellent ability to deliver under pressure 25. •Solid organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and effectively bring discussions and issues to closure 26. •Solid project management skills, including ability to coordinate, negotiate, schedule and communicate with all levels of staff 27. •Basic knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, Linux (Redhat preferred), any scripting or programming language (bash, shell, perl) 28. •Some hands on experience in writing MapReduce jobs in Java, Pig, or Hive 29. •Some exposure to data science languages like SAS, R, or Python 30. *31. **Desired* 32. •End-to-end testing and regression experience 33. •Domain background of Banking / Credit Card industry 34. •Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools such as HP ALM 35. •In-depth knowledge of quality management methodologies, principles, metrics and tools.
