This is a client facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers. *Skills Description:* •Works with project and business team to develop MicroStrategy reports •Understanding requirements and preparing technical specifications documentation •Design and code MicroStrategy including plug-ins that meet product specifications and development schedule. •Working closely with ETL developers and other leads during development and support of this BI application •Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis. •Performing technical analysis, creating designs, and identifying impacts (functional/technical) •Assists in functional and system testing of integrated reporting applications, Dashboards, KPIs •Test and debug assigned components and units. •Participate in large system and subsystem planning. •Collaborate with DBA on data warehouse elements that affect software reports and dashboards and works with them to resolve incompatibilities. •Troubleshoot problems and provides customer support. •Advise on characteristics that affect application systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements. •Proficiency with MicroStrategy v9 – Dynamic Dashboard, Flash Widgets & Mapping, Report development •Knowledge on new features in MicroStrategy v10 and its functionality is a must. •development and project design: Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies, Aggregation etc.- Experience in governing, trouble shooting, tuning Intelligence Server and Web Server •Good understanding of relational structures, dimensional data modeling, Structured Query Language (SQL) skills •Building the MSTR objects (metrics, facts, attributes, filters, custom groups, etc.) •Ability to build and debug/maintain complicated SQL queries is desired •Data Warehouse and reporting techniques. •Experience working with the full life cycle development process, which includes analysis, design, construction, and testing •Desirable Technical Skills - MicroStrategy certification •Hands-on experience of design, implement, migrate large enterprise BI solutions/platform/architecture •Mandatory Functional Skills - Analytical and problem solving skills •Strong written and verbal communication skills •Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines •Familiarity with project management and systems development life cycle processes, tools, concepts and methodologies •Ability to work independently and as a team member •Works with the team to ensure successful promotion of objects in various environments •Participate in special projects as needed. *REQUIREMENTS* •Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and consultative skills with a proven ability to express ideas, concepts, technology approaches, etc. in business compelling language •Strong documentation skills and experience writing Design Documents in compliance with the project delivery methodology •Strong interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, peers, supervisors, and internal customers. •Quick learning and ability to function with little supervision. •Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English well. •At least 4-7 years of hands-on experience with the following MicroStrategy v9i components: Architect, Desktop/Developer, •At least 4-7 years of hands-on experience with Schema Objects, OLAP Services, BI Developer Kit, Intelligence Server, Object Manager, Report Services, Mobile and Web •4+ years’ experience developing Business Objects. •Thorough understanding of the reporting components of MicroStrategy, Informatica, Oracle as well as 1 other interface such as Crystal Reports, MS Access, Web Focus, etc. •Strong demonstrated experience in MicroStrategy and other BI products, deep knowledge of data architecture, BI concepts, and creating MicroStrategy schemas. •Familiar with SQL query and knowledge of Teradata, Oracle with exposure to at least 1 of the following: Hadoop, Neteeza, DB2, SQL Server, etc. •4+ years’ experience building MicroStrategy Reports •4+ years’ experience as a MicroStrategy Architect •Can build complex dashboards using reports as filters •Can do advanced filtering •Ability to read and analyze report specifications prepared by business analysts. •Capability to interpret database schema documentation including entity-relationship diagrams. •Ability to develop, test, and promote report. •Understanding of GUI standards and GUI evolution. •Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and some technical training. •Strong knowledge of distributed systems, architecture, design, & software development best practices with proven success in implementing enterprise-level applications and leading a team of developers. •Must be a self-starter and drive key processes from conception to completion while working well in a team environment. •Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skill. *PREFERRED SKILLS* •MicroStrategy certification is mandatory. Business Objects certification is nice.
