Role: Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Tuner/ AM/FM/Sirius XM) Location : Novi MI Job Description *Android is Big Plus * Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for analyzing existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bus, and/or port to different platforms related to tuner and SDARS. *Basic Qualifications:* - 3 – 7 years of embedded software development or testing - 3 – 7 years of C/C++ or other structured language - Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment; tuner and SDARS (Satellite Digital Audio Radio Services) experience preferred - Object oriented software development experience - Working knowledge of embedded operating systems Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies: - Experience developing and debugging Java software applications (JDK, Eclipse, LEWIT, Kona) Android Skill is Big Plus - Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment. - Tuner and SDARS- Preferred - Working knowledge of QNX or Embedded Linux. - Strong attention to detail. - Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. - Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects. - Capable project management and time management skills. Job Responsibilities: - Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates these into software designs - Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bus, and/or port to different platforms - Participates in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout program - Coordinates software development activities with software team leader - Identifies product requirement or performance issues. Works with software team leader to negotiate resolution - Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate software development.
