Job Description

*R12 Migration *

*Business Analyst – General Ledger Interfaces & Extracts*



*Role Overview*

   - The Business Analyst required for this position will work closely with
   Finance and Technology departments on various Oracle modules noted below
   - They will represent the functional needs of Finance ensuring business
   needs are planned into the solution
   - Initial responsibility for the inbound GL interfaces & outbound GL
   extracts related to Oracle R12 implementation as well as downstream feeds
   from the finance data warehouse
   - Development of business process flows and procedures required to
   operate the solution in partnership with the business



*Skills Overview*

   - Collaborates on project planning and management by documenting and
   maintaining plans, managing logs, following up with business partners, and
   preparing project documentation
   - Supports project management in preparing project plans, periodic
   status reports and other project artefacts
   - Leads complex and challenging business/system requirements by
   facilitating strategic user meetings and interviewing users, and resolving
   issues
   - Drives the analysis of current processes and recommends solutions and
   improved processes; may provide counsel on impact of systems changes to
   business processes
   - Well-versed on information technology and specifically Oracle
   terminology and methodologies
   - Able to be flexible to support other functional areas in addition to
   Oracle applications
   - Detailed knowledge of Oracle EBS 11i and R12 and proven track record
   in upgrade projects
   - Experience writing detailed business solutions, specifications and
   data mapping and conversions
   - Experience working with business process owners and end-users to
   establish sufficient levels of detailed requirements as well as creating
   test plans
   - Experience with Oracle Discoverer, standard reporting modules, and
   using Oracle’s BI tools
   - Ability to comprehend and analyse complex issues and pay attention to
   details
   - Sufficient knowledge of accounting and general ledger to support
   automated interface and reconciliation testing
   - Experience using SQL tools to obtain and summarize accounting
   transactions and balances
   - Confident with global multi-currency accounting concepts and
   associated data
   - Ability to multi-task and efficiently prioritize when several
   activities are running in parallel
   - Partner with the business and project team in planning and executing
   on test scenarios and cases
   - Engage with training team to support training plan and delivery
   - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to
   communicate and interact across multiple levels of the team across time
   zones/countries – IT, Finance, Trainers, and end users
   - Confidently organize and facilitate meetings and conference calls
   - Detail oriented with strong analytical and thinking skills.
   - Proven flexibility and adaptability in changing priorities.



*Global Organization*

   - Ability to work with distributed team in multiple time zones;
   willingness to travel
   - Ensure solutions meet local requirements while maintaining consistency
   with global standards



*Industry*

   - Understanding of the Financial Services and banking industries
   preferred



*Education*

   - Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent
   preferred.



*Preferred Software Knowledge *

   - Vendor: Oracle; Modules: General Ledger (GL);  Other modules an
   advantage
   - Understanding of SQL and SQL*Loader, and TOAD tools a plus



*Software Knowledge for Daily Duties*

   - Strong Microsoft Office skills on Windows including: Outlook,
   PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project
   - VISIO or similar skills preferred.
