*Fortinet Firewall Engineer * *Location: San Diego, CA* *Interview Process: Phone or Onsite Interview* *Duration: 3-6 month contract* *NO OPT Please* This short term (6 month) contract position will be responsible for deploying the following Fortinet firewall appliances: · 2x Fortigate 3700D’s for the ADCOM Datacenter · 2x Fortigate 3700D’s for the SDSC Colo Datacenter · 6x Fortigate 3700D’s for the Node Firewall Replacement · 2x FortiGate 1500D’s for the VPN project · 1x FortiGate 800D for SIO · 1x Fortimanager FMG-2000E · 1x Fortianalyzer FAZ-3500F · 1x Fortisandbox FSA-3000E The firewall pairs will be configured in active-active Layer 2/transparent mode. The following NGFW features will be enabled: IPS, malware protection, sandboxing, application identification, user indentification, and URL filtering. The engineer will also configure a multi-tenant management environment that allows custom manageability of firewall rulesets using virtual domains, Fortimanager and Fortianalyzer. The engineer will lead the migration of firewall services from the Cisco FWSM environment to the Fortinets. The FWSM environment consists of 14 FWSM modules, 500 contexts/VLANs and 30,000 rules. *Responsibilities:* · Serves as technical lead responsible for the design, delivery and successful deployment of the Fortigate firewall infrastructure for two datacenters and the core network (node replacement). · Closely collaborates with the network engineering staff and Datacom to integrate the firewall infrastructure into the campus network. · Ensures that firewall infrastructure and services are effective in enforcing the security policy of the campus, and responsive to the needs of the customer. · Ensures that firewall infrastructure meets PCI requirements. · Requires evening/overnight/weekend hours as needed for any installation/migration activities that impact network services. *Qualifications:* · 10 years deploying and managing firewalls in a large enterprise/higher education environment. · 5 years of experience in deploying and managing Fortigate firewalls · Professional certifications such as Fortgate NSE or Cisco CCNA/CCNP · Demonstrated ability to deploy Fortigate firewalls in active-active, layer 2 configuration. · Ability to configure the Fortigates using the Fortimanager GUI, and to train other personnel on using the GUI. · Understanding of the integration requirements with networking equipment, such as etherchannel, LACP, STP/VTP, VRRP, VSS, and potentially EIGRP, OSPF, and VRFs. · Expertise in administering complex security controls and implementing and managing network firewall policies across a multi-tenant environment. · Advanced experience using IT security systems and tools, such as nmap, Wireshark, grep, awk, sed, regex, Splunk, and basic Linux admin. · Advanced knowledge of data encryption technologies and experience selecting and applying appropriate data encryption technologies. *Nagarjuna.
