As our Senior Reporting Engineer, you''ll work within the Consumer Support and Services team to deliver on reporting requirements supporting the Analytical needs for our business partners and stakeholders. You''ll be an integral part of our team that supports the entire suite of back-end and front-end reporting capabilities, a data warehouse and data analysis. Your primary focus within the team will be in supporting reporting needs and data collection/analysis through internal and third party development agencies, creating reports and data extracts, and supporting data analysis and decision-making for our online support and services businesses. In addition, you''ll be responsible for partnering with our consumer business partners along with development team members to help define business and technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, implement new features, and support our evolving business needs. Additional tasks include: requirements gathering, data modeling, database design, development, research, analytics and communication. DBA type responsibilities include DB installation, creation, monitoring, indexes, text catalogs, triggers, security, backups/restores, fragmentation, windowing, partitioning, and ETL. Database development duties include schema design, queries, procedures, views, functions, managed code procedures, and SQL Management Objects. Automation duties include downloading, parsing, integrating, importing, and archiving large amounts of data. Your work in providing critical business intelligence for Symantec's support and services business will help us optimize and enhance our consumer business as we continue to evolve and grow.
