We have this position with our client
*Position:* Backend QA Engineer
*Location:* San-Jose, CA
*Duration:* 6 Months
*Position Summary*
The QA Engineer will be responsible for the strategic direction for all QA
and Support and will provide direction for the successful plan, creation and
execution of testing for a large-scale system at the interface level.
*NOTE:*
This is NOT a black-box testing position. Please apply only if you have the
relevant experience.
*Responsibilities*
· Design, develop and execute performance
tests from browser and webservices (back-end).
· Setup testing environment for running
multiple services in multiple machines and identify infrastructure issues
· Design and execute scenarios adding data
to the database to identify bottlenecks in application
· Review junit test cases written by
developers to check for coverage and provide feedback.
· Design and test database replication
scenarios.
· Assist in troubleshooting technical
support issues.
· Provide QA support for ongoing maintenance
and patches.
· Black-box testing when required.
*Requirements
*· Experience working in Linux environments
and configuring applications is required.
· Familiarity with shell scripts.
· Experience with performance testing Flex
applications a huge plus!
· Practical experience writing scripts,
designing scenarios and running performance tests;
experience with at least one performance automation tool such LoadRunner,
NeoLoad or other scriptable, multi-user load testing is a must.
· Experience working with mysql database.
· Knowledge in SoapUI/PushToTest or other
webservices testing software a huge plus!
· Practical experience in at least one
programming/scripting language. Programming in Java a plus!
· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science,
Engineering or other related field;
*Advanced Computer Science degree preferred.*
· 6+ years experience within QA/Support
teams and at least 4 years on web based applications.
· Familiarity with Subversion, Continuum, Maven and/or Rally
software platforms a plus.
· Experience with Keynote/Gomez or other
hosted load applications a huge plus!
· Must possess clear and concise written and
verbal communication skills.
· Must be self-organizing and a
self-starter.
· Ability to effectively manage own efforts
and work with cross-functional teams.
