SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
" Thorough Understanding of OTC Derivative products and settlement
process
" Proven experience in the Analysis and Support of large distributed
applications written in C++/Java
" Strong C++ programming skills. Other programming languages such as Java
is a plus
" Expert level skills analyzing, understanding, modifying and developing
SQL querying for Sybase. Experience with UDB and others Databases is Plus
" Solid hands on experience in scripting languages: KORN SHELL, Perl
" Knowledge of OO concepts and proficiency in UNIX and Windows.
Experience with various tools like awk, sed
" Outstanding communication skills and experience interacting with
business & technical partners.
Strong Pluses:
" Experience with asynchronous messaging and tools: Tibco, XML, COM, MS
Exchange, MS Word, Business Objects
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
" Support all the aspects of the applications functions and technology
related to the process of Settlement Management and Derivatives. This includes:
1) implementation, 2) deployment and testing of components for various business
areas 3) Interacting with global operational users and IT teams to analyze,
support and fix system issues.
" Respond to services requests, monitoring systems, analyzing issues and
running ad-hoc reports.
" Understand existing and new business/technology flows and existing code
structure
" Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks based on business needs
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
ROLE:
Support the applications and technology infrastructure currently used by
Commodities, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Bank Loans and Futures
middle office and operations. This is a client facing role and the consultant
primarily responsibility is the production support of existing system and
business which requires interacting and interfacing with global operational
users and IT teams to analyze, support and fix system issues. The candidate
must learn existing system and business flows to support all the aspects of
application and business functions.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
This Global Team develops, maintains and supports application and technology
infrastructure for all aspects of confirmation functionality for OTC
derivatives. Globally deployed multi-tier system is developed in C/C++ and uses
technologies like asynchronous messaging, XML, COM, MS Exchange, MS Word,
Business Objects etc. on Unix and Windows platform with Sybase and UDB
databases. The Confirmations & Settlements team is responsible for the
development and maintenance of the payment and settlements systems used by
Operations teams globally.
