Opa, então : SIM, o exp e o imp tradicionais ainda estão presentes na versão 11g (e até na 12c,sem dúvida) e ainda funcionam,MAS foram depreciados, ie, não sofreram mais introdução de novas features a partir do banco 10g - assim sendo, SE vc usar no seu database QUALQUER nova feature 10g (seja um dos novos datatypes, e/ou tipos user-defined, e/ou features de compactação e/ou novas features de modo geral), a Oracle NÂO te dará Suporte algum,pode ser que funcione pode ser que não... O manual 10g original diz isso Claramente :

Então a sua resposta é simples : SE no imediato curto prazo vc não usa e não pretende usar NENHUMA feature introduzida no 10g em diante ok, vc pode continuar usando exp+imp,MAS vá adiantando seus testes com expdp+impdp para o substituir, essa é a Recomendação oficial ...
