AIX Admin-Dallas, TX 6 Months+ Rates- open Need f2f after initial phone screen Immediate Work Description: * Installation, support and maintenance of AIX and Linux servers * Troubleshooting all aspects of the AIX/Linux Operating Environment * Manage filesystems, disk devices, AIX Volume Manager, Veritas Volume Manager * UNIX Scripting (SH, KSH, Perl) * Storage (EMC, NetApp and Sun Storage) SAN/NAS. SAN/Network Switches. * High availability systems. DR, HACMP, IP Multipathing, RH/Veritas Cluster Server (or other High Availability software) setup and troubleshooting * Performance tuning, networking, system security/hardening, IO monitoring and analysis. * System security (wrappers, SSH, sudo, logging, auditing, intrusion analysis) * Work with core Internet technologies: TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/SSL, Sendmail, Spam Control, Virus control/detection/inoculation. * Patch and package management, user and group management, * VPARs/jumpstart/kickstart installations. Rack mounting of servers, cable spanning, * System backups (Legato, Netbackup, Networker) * Creation of HowTo's, Metrics, Best Practices Guides, Project Plans, Purchase Orders. Job Specification (Specific Knowledge and Skills required for this position): - AIX administration for SAP implementation (P570, P595 frames). - AIX clustering, HACMP, LPARs, VPARs, SAP landscapes - SAN/NAS, Clustering, Veritas, Emc\Dmx - Linux/Solaris System Administration - Excellent troubleshooting skills - Legato (or similar) backups - Basic database knowledge (Oracle) - Excellent communication and documentation skills - Excellent customer skills Work Direction/Management Scope: Day to day system monitoring, system support, system backup and computer room facilities management of our disaster recovery site. Interface daily with manager & directors. Write weekly reports, create metrics, project plans, purchase orders. Participate in group/customer meetings.
