The candidate will define and develop end-to-end Service Delivery processes
for emerging Voice over IP services for business customers. These processes
include but are not limited to Ordering, Provisioning, and Test and Turn-up
functions. The candidate will work with cross functional teams across
multiple organizations such as Product Management, Systems Development, and
other process teams to provide all user requirements to bring new services
and features to market. The candidate will assist in creation of testing
plans, create test scripts and provide support for system user acceptance
testing and operational readiness testing of new features. The candidate
will be responsible for working with the Service Delivery operational work
centers to support the initial rollout of the features for business
customers. The candidate will also be responsible for providing/maintaining
customer-facing documentation that will be sent to customers by the
operations centers. Finally, the Candidate is responsible for delivering
operational efficiencies such as cost, cycle time and defect reduction
through process re-engineering.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

The Candidate shall work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop business
process flow diagrams and provide user requirement documents as input to
systems engineering and work center operations. The Candidate will review
the outputs of systems engineers to ensure that the user requirements were
properly captured and that the user requirements were properly met. Prior to
the delivery of software, the Candidate will develop test cases and provide
testing scripts to ensure that the systems software was accurately coded to
support the Service Delivery business function.

Working with the operations center, the Candidate will train operations
personnel on the new systems functionality and ensure that adequate
operations resources are obtained to test the systems functionality. The
Candidate will work with systems engineers and operations personnel during
the testing phases to report software bugs, document work-arounds, and
resolve any issues that may arise during the testing phases. At the
conclusion of the testing phase, the Candidate shall work with customers,
the operations center and Product Management to ensure that the systems
rollout will successfully support the new voice over IP features.

The Candidate shall also be proficient at taking existing business processes
and optimizing them to achieve efficiencies utilizing process re-engineering
techniques such as Six Sigma. The Candidate will also need to customize
existing processes for customers requiring specific needs that are outside
of the standard process, ensure buy-in from partner organizations such as
operations and maintenance, and manage those customers and partner
organizations during throughout the Service Delivery process.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating
customer-facing documentation that is used during the Service Delivery
process. The documentation includes letters and service updates/guidelines
that will be sent to customers by the center operations team.

The Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business. An
advanced degree in engineering or business is preferred. The Candidate shall
have experience in business process development, project management,
identifying user requirements, test planning and execution. The candidate
must be experienced in the use of business –related software such as
PowerPoint, EXCEL and WORD. A working knowledge of VISIO for process
documentation and flow charts is desired.

The Candidate shall have knowledge of Voice over IP business applications
and Networks in general. Specifically, knowledge of, and experience in
supporting hosted VOIP services such as Centrex, Voice DNA, etc. both from a
product and Service Delivery process perspective is highly desired.

The Candidate shall have technical experience with the ordering and
provisioning of Legacy voice services such as dedicated long distance, local
trunks, and toll-free services; data services such as dedicated Internet
access, frame relay, ATM, metropolitan Ethernet, MPLS and associated
IP-based services; customer premises hardware including, but not limited to,
Cisco routers, LAN switches, IP and TDM PBXs, and IP and TDM handsets; and
Voice over IP protocols including SIP, H.323, SCCP, MGCP and RTP.

The Candidate shall have experience with software development and systems
engineering processes, and Voice over IP Network components. Also, the
candidate should be familiar with the operational systems that support the
ordering and provisioning of Voice over IP and Data services. These systems
include GCSM, GIOM, EFMS, USRP, and SPP.
