*UI Designer/Developer – Long term contract opportunity in downtown Chicago*
*Location:* Chicago, IL We’re in search of an experienced UI Designer/Developer for a contract opportunity that will last minimally through March 2010. *Job Profile:* * * - The candidate must have considerable experience designing and developing dynamic web applications using complex XHTML, JavaScript and CSS as opposed to designing simple web pages. - Candidates will be required to provide examples or portfolio of User Interfaces that you have designed and implemented * * *Job Responsibilities:* * * - Design, script (code), implement and lead the development of user interface components of web applications. - Translate ideas, workflows and wireframes into valid, structured web pages and stylesheets. Candidate must be able to develop usable and flexible layouts using best practices. - Translate concepts and information into visually compelling user interfaces under tight deadlines. - Create prototypes to aid planning phase of development projects. - Conduct feasibility reviews of design concepts with team members - Implement design concepts using contemporary technologies based on the Web/JEE development stack * * *Required Experience/Skills:* * * - 3 + years implementation experience in launching successful interactive web applications as a key member of a web development, application development, or user experience team. - 4+ years of experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML. - 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, AJAX,. - Extremely comfortable with JavaScript. - Strong understanding of web standards, object-oriented design and software development principles. - Experience working with JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as prototype, script.aculo.us, dojo, or similar - Experience with web-application security coding best practices and issues such as XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, etc. - Experience integrating web applications with infrastructure services such as load balancers, firewalls, proxies, single sign-on products - Bachelors in Arts or Sciences or equivalent experience. - Working knowledge of back-end web development and integration with Oracle databases. - Ability to coordinate multiple projects and participate in varying levels of programming effort.
