Please find the job description from our client: *Role : UNIX-Linux Systems Administrator/Support Technical Lead* *Location : Lexington, KY* *Duration : 6+ Months* *Rate : 35$* *Description: * Participate as a member of the Enterprise Software R&D team in a complex, highly integrated environment. Performs analysis of functional and business requirements. Contributes to design activities and will work closely with local management and global IT staff to design appropriate solutions to solve problems. Works independently and with little supervision; participates in IT reviews and provides status information to software development managers. Designs, prepares and executes upgrades, MACs, and other responsibilities. Installs software to specifications pertaining to current or future software development requirements. Applies HP and 3rd party technologies to highly complex infrastructure and software solutions. Independently implements end-user or enterprise infrastructure of moderate complexity or services prepared by more senior technologist for more complex solutions. May assign work to others. Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks. May provide time / resource estimates for assigned projects. *Qualifications:* Education and Experience Required: Typically a technical Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years related experience. Industry standard certifications a plus. Past experience in a fast-paced, complex infrastructure environment is required. *Knowledge and Skills Required: * In depth knowledge of the Unix environment including HP-UX and Linux required. Must have performed system administration/troubleshooting tasks in the past across multiple technology inputs (servers, networks, storage, etc). The ability to apply solutions across the infrastructure is essential. Interpersonal skills with a verifiable ability to manage relationships in a highly matrixed reporting structure is essential to success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team. Practical experience with Solaris preferred as is advanced knowledge of networking, storage management and working knowledge of Windows. Project management preferred but not required. Experience in a software development company and/or knowledge of the IBM mainframe environment is a huge plus. Critical Competencies to Drive Business: *Responsibilities: * Provides technical support and expertise in the creation, tracking and delivery of software products, conducts, participates or drives technical research and collaboration with developers in the process, design, development, and usage of software development tools and systems. Responsibilities may include leading a team or project in area of expertise, planning, supporting, coordinating, integrating, trouble-shooting, and administering systems used as part of the Software Development infrastructure to control and release Software components. This applies to the documentation, design, code, integration, testware, testing activities, change control activities, release activities and process definitions as well as the tracking and delivery of Software products. Intermediate: Applies intermediate technical skills to issues and is regarded as a subject matter resource. Provides guidance to functional teams. Assist in development of guidelines and procedures to set future precedent and direction. Typically a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 years of related experience in Software Development.
