A) Need project-based experience; coupled with day to day operations, this
resource should be very well-rounded. This resource needs to be able to put
projects together as well as manage technical resources.

b) Expert level skill set in deployments, change management & environment
work. Needs to be able to answer to his qualifications on day 1.

c) Good communicator - will need to be excellent at conversing with all
levels of management as well as peers.



*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

The Environment Management (EM) Engineer is responsible for managing the
midrange and/or mainframe Environments performance and source code for
customized applications: the build & deployment of that code across multiple
platforms in all of the Development, Test , Training and Production
environments: the creation/support of customer test data and to maintain the
established Environment availability.

The EM Engineer’s daily responsibilities includes the administration,
monitoring, optimizing and technical single point of contact for the
infrastructure/environment framework and Customers Applications:

· Operating Systems & Infrastructure - Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/XP
Server, AIX, SUN Solaris, Linux, Oracle, SQL Server, MVS, CICS, DB2.

· Middleware Applications - Websphere Business Integration, IBM Websphere
Application Server, Websphere Message Broker, MS DPM, First logic, Epiphany
(CRM), J2EE, Business Object (formerly First Logic), Exstream WebVerse,
Exstream Dialogue, Genesys, Crystal, MS .NET Applications, Customer User
Interface (Customized CUI), Informatica, Actuate Reports, RoboEngine

· Tools/Others - Rational Clear Case, CVS (Concurrent Versions System),
Visual Source Safe, Quick Test Pro, Mercury Test Director, AUTOSYS, Elite,
Vignette, Eclipse, Security Systems (LDAP, TAM) Language Support – Java,
SQL, JACL, PERL, ANT, Windows batch, SSH/SSL WBI is one application of many
that is supported in these testing environments.
The EM Engineer builds, deploys and manages the customer’s source code. This
entails, but not limited to making changes to trace levels, meta-data
loading, optimizing the file archiving process and reducing heap dump sizes.
It also includes investigating possible application failures, WBI adapter
failures, MQ communication failures, and unresponsive applications.



*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:*

· BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and three (3)
years working as a Systems Engineer, specializing in at least two areas in
each of the three listed support categories above: or five (5) years working
as a Systems Engineer, specializing in at least two areas in each of the
three listed support categories above.

· One (1) year of hands-on experience working with a Source Code Deployment
Tool – ClearCase (Midrange) and Endeavor (Mainframe) preferred.

· Professional knowledge level of Microsoft Office product line.

· Team Player, ability to work with peers and/or external support teams on
complex projects and issues: keep all involved informed of activities
progress and provide status reports to management.

· Excellent time management skills, ability to plan, organize and achieve
coordinated objectives.

· Excellent command of English language, both spoken and written.

· Willingness to participate in the rotating On-call support.

· Develops, maintains and follows established standards and procedures.

· Able to work in a high activity setting and able to multi-task

· Familiarity with back up and restore procedures.

· Assists in integrating new programs/designs into production.

· Performs problem diagnosis and resolution, determining root cause and
actions to be taken.

· Takes responsibility for the introduction of new tools and techniques
within his/her teams.

· Demonstrated ability to adjust focus and efforts to meet changing
priorities and shifting customer needs

· Ability to manage internal and external relationships.

· Ability to influence vendors on product/service direction and resolve
routine business issues.

· Accountable for ensuring effective utilization of available resources and
creating a cooperative, team atmosphere in small groups.

· Envisions and suggests future requirements and integrates them into the
development of deliverables.

· Helps set development standards and evaluates specific products.

· Able to effectively work an issue and see it to satisfactory completion

· Able to explain a problem in non-technical terms and be able to work with
cross cultural teams

· Clear understanding of the SDLC and your role in it

· ITIL certification
