*SAS admin Lead* *Location: Raleigh, NC*
*Duration: 1 year + possible extension* * * *Description:* The Client is seeking a contractor to serve as a *lead SAS administrator*. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the SAS business intelligence and analytics systems. The contractor will be involved in defining the user roles and security levels for anticipated users of the SAS system and will work with the vendor, business users and technical experts to extract the data from the Medicaid data warehouse system into the new systems as well as acting as a technical liaison between internal agency business users, Medicaid fiscal agent & other external agencies on resolving the technical issues with these systems. Duties/Responsibilities will include: • Working on the installation of the products • SAS server administration, monitoring and tuning, apply upgrades and hot fixes for the new releases • Managing SAS access and security, post-installation validation, performing upgrades and maintenance of the systems. • Data extract and loading, define and create auto-extract process for the service level files Setting up of profiles and defining the views as required by the users • Database support & providing on-call support for production problem resolution • Provide recommendations for functional and technical enhancements to improve overall application performance • Provide support to users related to SAS desktop, access and user training • Position also ensure adherence to technology standards, policies and procedures and manages medium to complex IT projects in the division. • Perform project monitoring for quality assurance, adherence to procedures & system performance to avoid interruptions of service & to provide quality customer service. • Implement policy & standards relating to the design, creation, security & recovery of the systems *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:* • Min. 5 yrs database administration experience • Min. 5 yrs experience - implementation and administration of SAS products - SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Management Console, SAS Metadata administration experience, SAS web report studio, SAS on Windows (both server and desktop) • Strong knowledge of designing and implementing SAS security models, • Oracle Database 11g Standard edition • Strong knowledge of SQL and scripts, SQL Reporting Services, SAS programming for data management (SAS macro) • Database performance/tools and MS Office products, FTP, Project mgmt tools & Data warehouse concepts • Considerable knowledge of hardware (server) capabilities/limitations; • Ability to work on complex queries for the data extraction • Demonstrated ability to gather & translate non-technical user requirements into technical format and structure • Excellent organizational & presentation skills in consulting w/ managers, clients, technical peers, vendors & subject matter experts on requirements & issues. • Ability to develop relationships with business users responding to needs in agreed upon timeframes; independently identifying options & developing custom solutions to customer needs. • Ability to work on tight deadlines, independently & perform job w/minimal supervision. • Min. of 3 yrs experience on a large-scale IT application or project • Ability to demonstrate project mgmt skills in developing project plans & providing accurate status reports for medium to complex projects; managing multiple & concurrent IT projects.
