H1B are fine if they are willing for contract to hire position.* * * *ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT* Division: Operations *Work Locations:* North America: Gaithersburg, MD, (USA) * * *ACCOUNTABILITY * Manager/Supervisor: Sr. Director of Information Systems and Technology *JOB SUMMARY * The Cognos BI Architect / Developer is responsible for architecting, developing, administering, managing, and supporting BroadSoft’s Cognos environment, working with users to define requirements for reports and dashboards, developing these reports, and implementing these reports in the production environment. Additional responsibilities include designing and developing the data warehouse using Cognos and Microsoft ETL tools; providing training, support, and best practices for users in all Cognos report-writing proficiency levels; problem resolution and support of existing reports; and working with the business analyst and management in reviewing new development requests and prioritizing work. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* - 7 years hands-on experience with the Cognos toolset version 8 (Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Framework Manager, PPES, Powerplay, Data Manager, Macros, and Transformer) as an architect, developer, and administrator - Experience in setting up Cognos Security - Ability to translate user requirements from multiple business disciplines into Cognos models, cubes, reports, dashboards, and portals - Development of complex Cognos reports with an emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery - Experience creating multi-prompt reports with drill-through capabilities - Patching and upgrading the Cognos environment, including the following servers: Business Intelligence, Enterprise Planning, and Web - 7 years experience designing and developing data warehouses using Cognos ETL tools - Experience with SQL Server 2000/2005, including writing and optimizing stored procedures - Proficiency with data modeling - Ability to provide training, support, and best practices for ad hoc query users, Business Authors and Professional Authors - Experience with Cognos Enterprise Planning (EP) is desirable - Experience with Cast Iron is helpful but not required *WORK COMPLEXITY* - The Cognos BI Architect / Developer will be solely responsible for architecting and managing the Cognos solutions.
