experience with Property and Casualty Insurance. The manager is looking for
someone that* **understands the process from taking a requirement from a
systems record to a centralized warehouse.* * *Local candidates will be

*Senior ISD Data Analyst*
*Job Summary*
Play major role in understanding, responding and fulfilling complex data
requests and requirements across the organization. Provide technical
consulting in the identification of data sources, data decomposition and
design/implementation for data delivery mechanisms. Participate in the
preparation of project proposals and play a major role in requirements
gathering, design, development, and testing standards for simple and/or
complex data applications and processes. Provide consultation and/or
implementation services related to data requests ranging from simple,
standard to highly complex, multi-phased projects and initiatives.
Participate in the development and communication of data methods and
practices through interaction with business and functional areas to support
company operations and the achievement of business objectives.

1. Consult with the business to determine data management needs,
communicate those needs, research appropriate alternative solutions and
provide recommendations and implementation to fulfill those needs.
2. Evaluate state of data within the Company and propose and/or
implement solutions that deliver data capabilities fulfilling those
requests.
3. Recommend improvements, leverage, communicate and promote
enterprise level data models and related data standards and practices to
utilize in the fulfillment of data requests; maintain and publish data
definitions and business rules within a meta data repository; help support
data stewardship activities throughout the enterprise.
4. Assist ISD and business staff with data related issues such as data
quality, data consolidation, evaluation of existing or proposed data sources
and application of data methods and practices.
5. Provide technical expertise within level of knowledge and authority
on data solutions including business intelligence, data warehousing, data
administration and data design. Provide input to project plans for assigned
projects, identifying tasks, dependencies and target dates. Participate in
project meetings and the execution of each plan, making and communicating
adjustments. Document and report progress and ensure consistent utilization
of department standards, procedures, and processes.
6. Appraise, recommend and apply developments in data management
technologies and techniques, and utilize them in the fulfillment of data
needs throughout the organization.
7. Improve processes within the Company to increase the level and
quality of service provided to internal and external customers.

*Qualifications*
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills,
and/or abilities normally required for competent performance in the job.
*Required Education and/or Experience:*
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems,
engineering, or related field, or comparable experience, and continuing
education related to the job
- 3 to 5 years experience in advanced data solutions including a
combination of data requirements gathering, data design, data delivery and
data quality assurance
- 3 to 5 years experience within the property & casualty insurance
business including multiple lines of business/product types, multiple
functional areas and the complete insurance life cycle
- 2 to 3 years of business facing interaction related to data requests
that result in the delivery of data-based solutions including development
and deployment of new or unique data extracts, utilizing business
intelligence tools/techniques for the design and deployment of data marts
supporting enterprise data warehouses and/or new or unique data processes
related to given subject areas such as policy, claim, agent, etc.
- 1 to 3 years experience in a data analyst or data management role
Job Related Knowledge and Skills:
· Demonstrated knowledge of managing data across n-tier
applications
· Demonstrated ability to predict and foresee how decisions will
impact other projects and processes throughout the Company
· Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and
procedures within database management
· Demonstrated knowledge of at least one programming language and
supporting tools and techniques
· Demonstrated knowledge of a database platform (DB2, MS SQL
Server) and SQL language constructs stored procedures or similar techniques
· Proficiency or substantial experience in at least 3 of:
requirements gathering, data design, ETL development, data modeling, or
decision support systems
· Demonstrated knowledge of or exposure to data warehousing design
principles and associated data management and delivery requirements
· Demonstrated knowledge of or exposure to gathering database
mapping requirements and creating mapping documents in detail using
commercial data modeling software or similar techniques
· Competent in standard MVS and Microsoft tools and standards
· Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information
to non-technical personnel both verbally and in writing
· Knowledge of and participation in project management
