Jacksonville.,FL Title: Sr. Java Developer Duration : 2 years This is a technology applications development role, within the dynamic rail transportation operations area. Projects will vary across several different organizations, though primarily within the locomotive business area. The applications environment is multi-platform (mainframe, mid-tier and web centric), with extensive use of services and enterprise tools for messaging, routing, and business rules. The locomotive asset base is mobile, with wireless communication channels. Responsibilities include both new development and existing systems support. Primary technical skills desired are end-user and mid-tier based, with experience in new applications development and support of existing applications. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Research, analyze, and define business solutions. • Prepare detailed project specifications and design solutions for business problems. • Code, debug, test, and support utilities, tools, and programs as part of the application development process. • Document test cases, expected results, test data requirements, and collaborate with testing teams/business partners to resolve testing problems. • Provide impact analysis for changes to programs and systems. • Serve as technical resource on project team. • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager. Qualifications: * 5 or more years of experience required in Software Application Design and Development * Very good verbal and written communication skills * Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Testing systems/tools Required Skills: * Involved in successful mid to large size web development projects. * Occasional leadership roles. * Experience of working well on team environments. * System documentation skills * Microsoft Office skills Technical skills: o Java 1.5(Strong) o JSP (Strong) o JSF (Strong) o JDBC o XML o Understanding of HTML (without the help of an HTML WYSIWYG editor) o Understanding of JavaScript and CSS o Ability to write queries using Structured Query Language (SQL) in Oracle Database and SQL Server Databases o UNIX/LINUX applications programming experience using C/C++ or Java Preferred knowledge/exposure: * Work experience on Rational Application Developer (RAD) and Websphere application server. * Work experience on Rational Clear Case and Rational Clear Quest. * Internet Protocol Suite, Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocol (IP), and applications programming for networks * Excel formulas, pivot tables * Some mainframe-based (COBOL/Job Control Language) experience helpful Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
