Needed strong DBA experience combined with at least 3-5 years MySQL DBA experience (combined with Oracle and/or SQL Server). The role description below is a guideline. Our client is looking for a Database Administrator to oversee all the aspects of a database. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the database. This will include anything from database architecture design through implementation, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, migration and support. Responsibilities: -Document and design database architecture for our current and new applications -Communicate regularly with applications and operations staff in order to ensure database integrity and security -Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform -Create database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions -Perform database backups, mirroring, replication and failover -Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements -Provide 24/7 support for critical situations -Work closely with IT project managers, database programmers and web developers -Installing and testing new version of the DBMS -Restore and recover corrupted tables or databases -Implement database security -Install upgrades and patches -Create shell scripts for task automation -Evaluate and recommend new database technologies -Monitor systems and platforms for availability *Qualifications: * -10+ years experience as a *Database Administrator* -*At least 7 years experience with MySQL * *-MySQL certified strongly preferred* *-Bachelors degree in Computer Science* *-Masters in Computer Science preferred * *-Extensive SQL experience * -*Must be very familiar with the following concepts: Stored Procedures, Triggers, Transactions, Referential Integrity, Indices, Primary key, Foreign key, Aggregate Operators, Joins, Nested Queries, Query Evaluation, ACID Properties* -Experience with Linux Servers -Experience migrating MySQL databases -Extensive experience writing stored procedures and triggers and any other database code to manipulate a database *Thanks & Regards,* * Rupesh,* *[email protected], Tammina Solutions LLC, Phone: 703.953.2374 Fax no : 703.991.5532*** -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OracleD2K" group.
