A business analyst is needed to represent the Customer Experience application team to understand current systems and gather functional business requirements(BRD and SRS) and create inputs to inform the team's software development. This job will require working very closely with business users, developments & QA leads and project managers across the various program tracks. *Job Function and Skills required:* * * • Business Analyst role with previous *5 to 7 years of experience*with IT projects. • Experience in *media industry and around Mainframe technology* is strongly desired. • Prior involvement with Customer-Facing web-based project and Customer Service or Call Center Application. • Experience working on projects and applications that are distributed and are developed on SOA model. • Experience creating structure in order to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, user flow diagrams, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. Ability to identify areas of business process improvements is key. • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: BRD, SRS, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously • Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. • Experiencing serving as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow. • Experience developing requirements specifications according to standard templates. Experience in crafting such templates is a key. • Collaboration with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams. • Having a project management skills will be a huge plus, but this person will not be managing budgets, or people. • This person will be engaged and involved with other Mainframe migration tracks: Delivery Assignment, Campaign Management, Commerce, Fulfillment System. Note: *Industry experience: someone coming out of publishing/media/financial highly desired.
