This solution should allow Menlo to offer clients the services they are willing to pay for in a flexible, transactional and scalable manner and increase velocity to meet customer demand. The areas that we believe will provide the most value to our customers and will produce sustainable growth, improve margins and increase customer satisfaction for Menlo are: • Carrier Relationship (Including Rate Management, Freight Pay and Audit and Procurement) • Rapid Integration of Mid Management -Market Customers into Transportation Network • Supply Chain Optimization • International Transportation Management • End-to-End Global Supply Chain Visibility • Materials Management (Including Inbound and Outbound Transportation) • Information Management and Business Intelligence This project requires dedicated, technical, adaptable individuals to assist with the client implementations, conversions and system improvements. You will be working with a core team of similar minded people responsible for the design, development and implementation of OTM projects for new and/or existing clients. * * This is for a Sr. Software Engineer position working in the OTM IT team in the Portland, OR office. A Sr. Software Engineer reports to a Development Manager and is responsible for understanding business requirements as well as developing and implementing solutions that fit nicely into the overall offering and meet customer expectations. This job will be focused around custom extensions to the standard OTM product in different modules and automation of various functions using the OTM work flow product as well as the BPEL product. The primary functions of this job include participating in interpreting business needs into technical requirements, collaborating with other functional experts to design solutions, resolve business critical issues, and providing extensive support to our end customers. Additionally this position requires the ability to multi-task and to complete projects under tight timelines. Strong organizational skills is a must. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Menlo’s business, strong data modeling experience, strong Java, PL/SQL, XML programming skills, business rules and work flow development. *Responsibilities* * * § Review and clarify business requirements § Collaborate with other functional area experts to design solutions § Write the technical specification and present to the Design Oversight Committee for approval § Resolve business critical issues quickly with solid solutions § Review technical solutions/designs provided by others § Configure the solution to address business requirements § Direct other technical resources in technical solution effort § Perform the actual application or integration development § Conducts and assists in all phases of testing including: o Unit Testing o Systems Testing o Integration Testing o User Acceptance § Provide 24 x 7 support to end users (rotating on-call) § Provide work level estimates to team lead § Provide input for project timelines to team lead § Provide status on projects to team lead § Interface with both internal and external customers/team § Complete time entry for all work in P3 § Provide mentoring to peers and daily guidance/management within a team environment § Communicate the status of projects to team lead as well as others in the organization as required. § Actively participate in the design of projects or review proposed designs to ensure application integrity. § Recognize projects that may impact multiple modules or the overall design of the solution and bring them the Design Oversight Committee for review. § .Provide technical consulting to other IT groups * * * * *Qualifications* - Minimum of 4 years in IT Analyst/Engineer role - OTM Functional knowledge and full cycle implementation experience is required - SQL and PL/SQL programming experience is a requirement - XML Knowledge is a requirement - Java programming experience is required - BPEL / work flow experience is required - XML Programming (XPath, XSL transformations and XSLT) is a plus - J2EE / Web development framework is a plus - Rules Engine experience is a plus - Knowledge of transportation logistics as it pertains to 3PL is required including international - Strong background in Object Oriented programming concepts - Ability to learn/understand functionality of multiple logistics-related systems - Understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) including developing requirements through implementation - Agile Development (SCRUM) experience is a plus - Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non technical people - Solid planning, design and implementation skills - Technically and analytically minded - Strong written, oral, and presentation skills - Strong interpersonal skills - Demonstrated ability as a self-starter and active participant in new initiatives - Deliver specific / configurable solutions to general requirements - Ability to work effectively with others and build relationships both within Menlo and among various levels of customers. - Ability to multi-task among competing priorities - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team structure - Ability to mentor and transfer your knowledge to other team members -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OracleD2K" group.
