Job Title: Sr. SQL Server Database Administrator
Location: Nashville, TN
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for SQL database administration across the CHS
enterprise on Common Technology Platform for Meaningful Use Applicaitons.
Technical functions include data base administration, evaluating,
implementing and troubleshooting software and systems. Maintains a high
level of service quality on production data base systems, anticipates future
requirements, trends, and changes to assure proper service levels. Perform
troubleshooting of database systems utilizing management consoles and other
troubleshooting tools. Assists in the development and maintenance of data
base standards and documentation,. Configures and implements database
monitoring and management systems. Outstanding customer ethic. Excellent
written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
.Proactively monitor, test, collect and analyze system performance
statistical data to improve quality of the database environment.
.Plan and coordinate the implementation and administration of MS-SQL
products.
.Patch, upgrade, and maintain database technologies.
. Deployment and maintenance of enterprise data base standards.
.Performance optimization analysis and implementation.
.Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates)
.Maintain infrastructure documentation as it relates to database
infrastructure systems configuration, support, and processes.
.Administer and maintain database system standards, system backup
procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's
disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
.Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues
within a multi-vendor infrastructure.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced SQL database performance tuning
Experience in SQL Server installations, administration, design and
development
Experience in MS-SQL single instance and cluster systems
Knowledge of data base management systems
Prior enterprise experience in a 24x7 mission critical environment
Advanced knowledge and experience in data base back-up/recovery
methodologies
Data base performance, availability, and monitoring
design/deployment/operations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
4 year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
6+ years experience in database administration

effectively collaborate with peers, IS partners, and outside vendors;
analyze business problems quickly;work on multiple concurrent projects,
while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
