Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineers Mobile Applications Location: San Jose CA, Nashville Tennessee 18 months Contract -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description Position Summary: This position will be responsible for the development and execution of software test plans and test cases. Additionally, the position will contribute to improvement of the overall software development and release process.. Additionally, the candidate must be a productive team player while maintaining a close and strong working relationship with teammates. This individual will be required to collaborate internally with teammates and externally to outside stakeholders. Position Responsibilities . Researches and develops a solid understanding of the proposed requirements, both from product management (Product Requirement Documents) and engineering specifications for the product features being implemented. . Works cross-functionally to mitigate risk. . Evaluates, recommends, and implements automated test strategies. . Designs and reviews test plan and test cases. Responsible for test configuration. . Executes functional, application, regression and performance tests. . Completes projects and tasks in a timely fashion. . Coordinate SQA test lab activities, equipment and tools. . Create release media for distribution. . Participate in the improvement of SQA processes. Experience: Position requires 8 to 10 years professional experience that includes a background in software testing, development and/or hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting complex custom solutions. Experience in any of the following testing areas desirable: . Perform manual & automated tests to verify product functionality, analyze results and assess automation effectiveness . Developing software test plans and procedures from requirements documentation . Experience in as many of the following areas: GUI testing; embedded testing; web application testing; mobile or handheld devices and various software & hardware platforms . Experience in Feature, Regression, Load, Installation./Upgrade, Localization, Performance and Longevity testing . Experience with Test Process and Automation tools Experience in one or more of the following technical areas desirable: . OS (Linux, Windows, HP-UX) . Relational DB (Oracle, SQL Server) . Test script design and development (ex: Perl, Python, etc.) . . C/C++, Java, VB, Database, OOD, Real-Time embedded systems preferred . Knowledge of TCP/IP, RF (wireless) & LAN networking protocols is preferred. . Knowledge of test lab configuration and setup tools (i.e., Ghost, VMWare, etc.) preferred Skills: . Strong engineering competence, including the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly . Strong analytical and problem solving skills . Ability to establish rapport and communicate with people at all levels of an organization . Strong verbal and visual presentation skills . Ability to adapt and willingness to learn new technology or techniques . Strong organizational skills - Ability to organize, analyze and execute several concurrent tasks and activities . Familiarity with Vocollect products or related technologies a plus .
