About the IT Security Policy Lead



Key Responsibilities

1.       Working background with relevant components of ISO 27000 family of
standards, NIST, and SANS

2.       Proven ability to design and implement revisions to existing
security policy and standards, including policy analysis and management to
compliance

3.       Strong communications skills and proven ability to act a focal
point for all Security Policy and Standards within the enterprise

4.       Working knowledge of Data Classification programs (lifecycle
approach)

5.       Working knowledge of Security & Risk Management Dashboards
(Metrics), will collect and be the owner of the collected data
(measurements and metrics) and provide the dashboard to management as needed

6.       Experience with monitoring and staying abreast of current Security
& Privacy Legal and Regulatory requirements that may impact the enterprise

7.       Strong communications skills and proven ability to act as a focal
point for Security Training & Awareness Program within the enterprise

8.       7+ years of current professional experience in the Security field,
with time spent as a lead or member of a team running a security program,
not just from a consulting point of view (operational experience required)
OR

9.       10+ years of the same current, relevant professional experience
without a degree

10.   Experience working with Enterprise customers with 1,000+ employees in
a Risk Management / Incident Response program



This is a full time employee role, with full benefits, limited travel
required

This role is for a long term client engagement (3 ½ years, with potential 2
year extension) for a major customer in the Houston area.  There is little
to no travel anticipated on this engagement.

Interested candidates must currently reside in the Houston area.



Certification requirements:

Mandatory:  Security Certification, Minimum of one of:

   -  CISSP
   -  CISM
   -  CRISC

Additional Education and Experience—Desired (Nice to have):

   -  Experience with Vulnerability and Threat Management
   -  Patch/Change Management

Additional Requirements

   - Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be
   individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a
   field of expertise
   - Having led a small team in delivery of a specific deliverable is a
   plus
   - Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations
   and interactions of products. Ability to apply technology and consulting to
   solve a client business problem
   - Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and
   confidence
   - Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning,
   listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing
   - Able to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with
   clients on small to medium sized engagements
   - Owns and produces customer documentation
   - Able to translate technical details into concise and easy to
   understand written form
   - Able to write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer
   specific RFP questions)
   - Able to translate verbal requirements from face to face client
   meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals
   - Able to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with a
   customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate
   - From the requirements, able to develop a high level design or plan,
   and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver
   - Able to advise the engagement owner about the risks associated with
   this work package
   - Able to work with a team to provide written responses to technical
   proposals and /or reports / documentation for delivery
