Job Title – Data Analyst Location – San Francisco, CA Duration – 6 +months Data & Analytics team seeks an outstanding Data Analyst to discover, develop and investigate significant customer insights. The successful candidate will prepare and analyze large volumes of customer usage data to deliver insight that will drive actionable strategy. This position requires a very curious and creative approach, attention to detail, and a superior acumen towards enhancing the value of data/metrics to satisfy business priorities. This person will need to be able to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced team-driven environment, and communicate well with business and technical personnel. *Responsibilities* • Become an expert in understanding and leveraging our customer’s usage data. • Acquire, clean and model data from multiple sources. • Perform in-depth data analysis, validation and inspection of source and derived data. • Partner in the design and management of a usage data framework for CSG. • Support ongoing business performance & trend analyses as required to inform management decisions. • Work cross-functionally to establish reporting & decision-making standards. • Ensure products are accurate, conformed and repeatable. • Ability to work independently as well as with larger Data & Analytics team. • Work closely with managers, development teams, quality assurance and other teams to manage work appropriately and efficiently. • Partner with IT organization to formalize key metrics in the corporate data warehouse. *Required Skills/Experience* • Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degree with an analytical focus preferred) with 5+ years full-time work experience in data and statistical analyses with proven outcomes. • Extremely adept at integrating disparate information, analyzing and interpreting data trends. • Ability to separate real trends from artifacts resulting from data issues. • Strong knowledge of data warehouse concepts and reporting/analytical environments and systems • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas with clarity and conciseness to technical and non-technical audiences. • Proficient with Oracle databases and PL/SQL for data extraction. • Proficient with ETL tools such as Informatica. • Creativity in problem-solving and developing actionable recommendations. • Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand. • Ability to function independently and as part of a team under aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment, convey a strong professional image, exhibit interest and positive attitude toward all assigned work, and strive for continued improvement. * * *Desired Skills/Experience* • Familiarity with the concepts of Data Warehousing (including star schemas). • Proficiency with Toad for Oracle, IBM SPSS Modeler, Tableau, and Splunk. • Experience with the salesforce.com service and the force.complatform and related technologies. • Experience with statistical modeling concepts, data mining and applications (such as SAS, SPSS and/or R) desired. • Experience with Business Objects desired. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OracleD2K" group.
