Database Design with SQL Server 2. TSQL coding 3. SQL Server - Administration & Replication diagnostics. Consultant will be working on a new project building diagnostics in an automated pre-production "staged system". New releases will be tested in this pre-production environment where the databases will be replicated on regular basis. Candidates must have strong experience in database replication skills. Customer is looking for expertise and ability to explain their experience the following: 1. Replication issues diagnostics 2. Replication set up 3. Data Out of Synch issues and resolution *Job Summary:* The Database Engineer II will develop and optimize database software to meet business goals.Duties will include database design, TSQL development and SQL Administration (specifically strong background in replication) for a *SQLserver* 2005/2008 environment. Additionally will have some BI/Data Warehouse responsibilities (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS). He or she will be a member of our Database Engineering team and will work closely with the software development groups to focus on customer-driven product enhancements, to our web-based eCommerce product and our server-based transactions systems. This job includes support of database infrastructure as third level escalation point. Responsible for database replication, and performance tuning. * * *Major Duties & Responsibilities* · Design and develop database components. · Design, create data models and database schemas. · Write & troubleshoot SQL code and design (stored procedures, functions, triggers, tables, views, indexes, constraints etc.) · Design SSIS, development and maintain ETL and data replication processes. · Reporting Services, IBM Cognos development and Analysis Services. · Document database standards and hold developers accountable for adhering those standards (i.e. hold review sessions) · Optimize database performance. · Replication performance diagnosis · Understand and apply optimization methods specific to MS SQL Server. · Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, read query plans, review SQL response logs, traces etc. · Manage database project lifecycle. · Monitor usage trends and suggest improvements. · Inventory systems and retire unused items. · Refactor systems to improve data quality and reduce maintenance costs. · Find and fix defects in released systems. *Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* · Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering) or equivalent work experience. · 5 or more years of professional software engineering experience · 3 or more years of experience with T-SQL and MS SQL 2005, 2008 and 2008 R2. · Experience with SSIS, SSAS & SSRS and nice to have knowledge of IBM Cognos. · Knowledge of other RDBMS systems such as Oracle, Sybase or DB2 · Software development skills e.g. C#, C++, PowerShell, Visual Basic · Requirements analysis skills · Experience with Waterfall or Agile methodologies · Communication skills · Detail oriented · Strong work ethic · Goal oriented · Fast learner · High initiative · Flexible – able to manage multiple priorities · Ability to work independently and on a team · Strong focus on customer service -- Thanks & Regards, *Nikhi Recruiter Palni Inc.* 1901 North Roselle Road, Suite: 800, Schaumburg, IL 60195 Phone: 347 434 4207 Email: [email protected] YIM: [email protected] URL: www.palniinc.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OracleD2K" group.
