Ability to provide technical input to test strategy and test development Databases query skills for SQL and Access * DESIRED: * BA/BS in Computer Science or related field Rational Functional Tester experience *PROFILE: * A candidate who would fit this role is either A.) A experienced and very technical Software QA or Test Engineer with experience developing automated test scripts and working directly with Software Developers on issues of code coverage. B.) Someone with junior or mid-level software development skills and experience who would like to work as a technical Test Engineer in the QA field. *RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create and updates scripts for applications under test including automated and manual test techniques in preparation for regression and installation testing. Perform regression and installation testing which includes the identification, documentation, review and analysis of code coverage for updates and assessment of defects. Create test planning documentation to include Test Plans, Automated Script Requirements, Functional Test Case Guidelines and Test Cases mapped to requirements. Create complex queries for test case verification and other supporting test documentation or tools. Reviews product documentation such as Marketing Requirements Document (MRD), Internal Requirements Document (IRD), Product Requirements Document (PRD), External Customer Product Specification (ECPS), storyboards, use cases, Clinical Data Test Guidelines, user interface documentation and product design documentation in order to create planning documents. Develops automation documentation, reviews third-party test tools and updates technical support and use documents for internal and external tools to optimize automation of test cases. Responsible for project and task estimates and status to Software Test Manager and Project Manager using Software Planner, Time Tracking, Team Foundation Server and other applications or documents on a consistent basis. Monitors project tasks and timelines compared to project plan timelines and estimated hours. Coordinates with Software Test Manager regarding testing resources needed to complete the test effort. May act as Test Coordinator or report to a Test Coordinator or other team members as needed to complete estimates or project work. Coordinates automation meetings for status and design review meetings based on project needs in order to establish test environment definition and requirements.
